One of my goals for the new year is to restart the habit of reading personal development and business books to help me on my journey of continuous learning, emotional improvement and being smart in the business decisions that I make. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Many times the reading of a book has made the future of a man”. My reads for January included:
- The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
- Bet The Farm by Antwain Tate Goode
- You Can You Will by Joel Osteen
- Destiny by T.D. Jakes
The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews had me starting the year off with a bang! This book I did not want to put down and it has subsequently been added to my favorites list to reread. Please see my review in a previous post. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho started off a bit slow for me but began picking up midway. By the end of the book I had come across some very good, thought provoking, and useful information about life. Antwain Tate Goode’s book, Bet The Farm, provided great tips on presenting your best self and how to improve work performance. I would recommend this read for college students, working professionals, and new business owners. Joel Osteen’s book, You Can You Will, was like a refresher course you need to take annually. This book is an easy read and had me evaluating my behavior and my mindset in parallel with Christian values. To end my January, I just started reading Destiny by T.D. Jakes. I am sure this book will cause for a moment of reflection on my life and provide strategies on how to continue on a path with a clear, more intentional direction.
I was very satisfied with my reads this month and super excited for the next group. February’s books are already stacked and waiting. Stay tuned and happy reading!
